Replacing a Victorian interceptor Replacing a Victorian interceptor

I live in a Victorian property, and due to extensive gardening work, the interceptor (which I believe were installed to keep rats out in a bygone age) has collapsed. We had a quote to have the work done from what I believe might be a dodgy company, and I wanted to try to find out if this is a big job. I realise it's a vague question but I'd just trying to get a broad idea before I get the work done. They seem to be quoting an extortionate amount.
Any help would be gratefully received.
