Overview
The Puraflo Residential system from Anua is an off-mains and on-site sewage treatment solution for domestic homes. Anua’s Puraflo system is as adaptable as it is effective. It can be installed above or below ground, as a new unit or placed with an existing septic tank. It is expandable as needs change and the minimal power requirements guarantee low running costs.
At the heart of the Puraflo system is the Puraflo Peat Bio Filter, an astonishingly efficient natural filter that is made 100% from natural resources. As wastewater passes into the septic tank, the solids settle and liquid effluent flows by gravity into a pump chamber through an outlet filter. A combination of biological, chemical and physical processes inherent in natural peat treat the wastewater as it filters through the bio-fibrous peat modules.

How it works
Stage One: Primary Settlement – Physical Treatment
1. The wastewater from the house flows into the primary chamber
2. Initial settlement occurs
3. The gross solids sink to form a sludge layer at bottom of the tank
4. The liquid effluent passes forward through three settlement zones into the integral forward feed pump station

Stage Two: Puraflo Biofiltration- Secondary Treatment
1. The liquid effluent is pumped to the Puraflo
2. A pipe work system at top level in the modules evenly distributes the effluent onto a naturally occurring filter media
3. A combination of biological, chemical and physical processes treat the effluent as it filters through the media in the modules
4. The treated effluent emerges from the modules through the outlet pipe work for an approved disposal method
